Coming to the Mud Run: Nelson’s Famous BBQ Chicken

Served at the Hollis Adams Mud Run: Nelson's Port a Pit BBQ Chicken
Mmmm… delicious. And waiting for you at the end of the Mud Run.

Here is a shout out to anyone who has a lake house in the Wawasee/Lake Webster area. Or who has attended a Notre Dame home football game. Or been to the Maple Syrup Festival in Wakarusa, the St. Joe County Fair or the Elkhart County Fair. Or even those of you who have attended the Indiana State Fair!

You have probably enjoyed Nelson’s Port a Pit Chicken. Yes, that delectable grilled goodness. Some have even been accused of driving 3 hours just for the chicken. (Right Tom McSoley?)

We are bringing the chicken to you — and to everyone else in the Indy area — that would like to try this ‘World Famous Chicken.’

Entry fees for the Hollis Adams Mud Run (HAMR) include a HUGE piece of this amazing chicken. We served it last year at our Mud Run and people are still talking about it. Some are coming back just for the chicken. Skipping the mud but planning on coming to eat the chicken and drink the beer. It is that good. Come out and try it. You will be a fan.

Nelson’s Port a Pit Chicken.
Yum.
